I’ve been listening to Nancy Leigh DeMoss for years… at least since sometime in 2004 through the Revive Our Hearts show on the radio, and now through radio, website, and podcasts.

Her heart for biblical womanhood and ministry has always resonated strongly within me. I have been blessed to listen to her ministry and great guests for years, and been encouraged in my daily walk as a woman of the one true God. Women’s ministry is a deep passion of mine.

I’m going to start this blog series by giving you a wee bit of background. Our lives are fashioned through the threads of daily life that weave a beautiful tapestry we can only see once it is finished.

In 2005, my parents built a house on the lot next to ours in West Virginia and began a new phase of life with retirement. My mom and I spent a lot of time together sewing, knitting, and just enjoying life. I always had Revive Our Hearts playing when it was on. And, once I could download the podcasts to play whenever was most convenient for me, I loved to knit to them. My mom regularly began joining me. We daydreamed of going to one of the Revive conferences, but the stage of life I was in with young children just wasn’t the right time. Then, the Lord moved my family to our small farmhouse that was closer to our church and my husband’s new job, but farther away from my parents.

Two years ago, I listened to the True Woman ’12 conference as it was livestreamed and talked with my mom about it. She said, “we will make it a plan to go to the next one. You just let me know when they announce it and I’ll set us up to go.” Then, last year she was struggling with health issues and had to have a brain tumor removed. Six weeks after her surgery, she suffered from a pulmonary embolism and went home to be with our Lord.

As the announcements for True Woman came in, I was heartbroken that I would not be able to go with my mom. But, with some help I was able to make arrangements to go and bring along my daughter-in-love and youngest grandson.

Over the next few days, I will be posting about the conference and just how the Lord has touched my heart through it. I pray that it blesses you. But, even more than that, I pray that my words are used by the Lord to draw you closer to Him and to a desire to live more fully for Him. For, there is truly nothing more important than that.

Thank you for sharing. Tiffani – I’m looking forward to reading more. I’m sure your mom would have rejoiced (and does rejoice) at your opportunity to attend.

  2. Tiffani, I know you are missing your mom. It’s so sweet that you were able to take your daughter-in-love along to experience this conference with you. I know your mom was probably there in spirit.
