Today is Day Thirty-six of “The Respect Dare” and we are discussing how God is always here for us and never leaves us truly alone. We can lean on Him to get through anything.

“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” ~ Psalm 126:5-6 NKJV

Today has been a rough day. Truthfully, I have had more rough days than good days for a while. But, God is still faithful and I know that He is walking with me each step through this journey.

This afternoon, one of my uncles died. He was being treated for cancer and we thought that he was doing better. But, God had other plans. I am praying for my Aunt to have peace and to truly experience the amazing love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Also, in the last two weeks, my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She is still undergoing testing to determine the extent of damage and what needs to be done to remove it and hopefully get her back to being healthy. I would be a liar if I said I was at peace with all of that. She’s my mom and I’m not ready for her to not be here with me.

But, in spite of all of this… and even perhaps because of all that the Lord has been doing in my own life through pain and suffering… I still know that He is always there.

I really liked the description at the end of this dare on how to visualize our time with God about this. I have been clinging to Romans 8:28 for a long time now.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” ~ Romans 8:28 NASB

He “causes”… ALL things… for good. How about you? What specific scriptures have you found minister to you when you are enduring pain and struggles?

Lord, I pray that You would settle my heart today. I cannot see the reasoning behind the many things that You are allowing or even causing in my life recently. But, I know that they must be for my good because Your Word says so.

Help me to hear Your voice clearly and to be obedient. Please forgive me for my fleshly doubts and fears. Thank You for loving me when no one else could or would.

In Jesus’ Name… Amen!
